Antique Rose Cut Diamond Conversion Ring of 14k Gold

A lovely antique rose cut diamond from the Victorian era (circa 1830-1860).

This ring features a closed-back rose cut salt and pepper diamond flower. The flower was originally part of a silver topped 14k yellow gold brooch (circa 1830-1860) that our jeweler transformed by welding on a split 14k yellow gold ring band. The center diamond measures approximately 0.25 carats, and it is surrounded by a halo of ten 0.01 carat diamonds. The total weight of the diamonds is approximately 0.35 ct.

The face of the ring is silver and measures 0.4 inches. The ring is currently a size 6.5, but it can be re-sized free of charge.

The overall condition is good, but there is some residual lead solder on the collets of two side diamonds (visible under magnification), and an asymmetry to the center diamond.

Please Note: While this would be a lovely choice for an engagement ring, it would not be a ring suitable for everyday wear due to the closed back diamond which should not be exposed to water.

Materials: Diamond, Gold.
