Antique Shakudo Crane Conversion Pendant

Shakudo is a Japanese mixed metal technique that involved an alloy of copper and gold that was treated to give it a dark black patina.

This striking pendant was converted from an antique letter opener (circa 1900) and features a family of cranes beneath a silver bail accented with a 0.25ct old European cut diamond.

The piece measures 4.5 inches from the top of the bail to bottom by 1.5 inches wide, and it is in very good condition. Due to the heft of the piece (59 grams), it would need to hang from a substantial chain, leather cord, or ribbon.

Materials: shakudo, silver, diamond.
