Victorians were fascinated with naturalism and brought their flora and fauna indoors in the form of terrariums and small greenhouses. Victorian women were also known to wear jewelry inspired by plants and animals -- including necklaces, earrings, and bracelets made to look like insects, bugs, and flowers.
This antique smokey quartz pendant features a beetle and leaf motif and it hangs from a 20 inch silver chain. The piece dates to the Victorian era (circa 1880-1900).
The overall condition is quite good; however, there is a small chip to the tip of one of the leaves (visible under magnification).
