Description

A stunning 14k gold antique Victorian opal & diamond ring!!!

Opal, the birthstone of October, has the ability to delight all those who gaze upon it with its rainbow flashes of color. Queen Victorian so loved this beautiful gemstone that she presented each one of her daughters with a set of opals as wedding presents. (500 Years of Gems & Jewelry, Frances Rogers).

This stunning Victorian ring (circa 1870-1890) features a collet set white opal with green and orange hues surrounded by a halo of eight old cut diamonds encircled by silver-topped gold collets.
This ring is unmarked, but acid tests for 14k gold and weighs 3.8 grams. It is in very good condition; however there is a slight bit of wear to the surface of the opal (visible only upon magnification) and one of the diamonds has a small chip (also visible only upon magnification.
This ring would be perfect for any woman or any occasion, but wouldn't it be an especially interesting engagement ring for someone who is looking for an alternative to diamond?
This diamond halo ring is currently a size 5.5, but we can re-size most rings for no additional charge.  Please contact us prior to purchase if you are interested in our re-sizing services.

We mail all of our jewelry in individually package gift boxes and offer flexible layaway plans!
