During Victorian and Edwardian times the gift of violets suggested that the giver's thoughts were occupied with love.
A perfect love token, this delightful violet brooch (circa 1905-1915) features beautiful purple and white enamel petals accented with a half pearl border. This piece was created by the renowned American maker Crane & Theurer of Newark, NJ and can be worn either as a brooch or a pendant (by slipping a chain behind the pin stem).
The reverse of the piece is marked 14k and it also bears the Crane & Theurer maker's mark. It measures 0.9 inches tall by 0.8 inches wide. It is in good condition; however, under magnification you can see that there were past repairs to two of the petals and some of the pearl accents on the petals were replaced and re-glued.
Materials: Diamond, Gold.
