In Cynthia Branigan's book "The Reign of the Greyhound," Branigan quotes a Victorian Era Writer who said of the Greyhound, 'No more elegant dog exists. They possess a refinement of form and a grace in every movement.'"
This finely rendered greyhound charm was originally an antique stick pin (circa 1870-1900). The piece is gold vermeil (gold over silver).
The charm measure 0.6 inches tall by 0.5 inches wide. It is in good condition; however, there is wear to the gold vermeil on the reverse of the piece where the pin stem was removed.
