Pietra Dura is a form of Florentine mosaic created when artisans cut and set colorful hard stones against a black slate.
Wonderfully designed, this pietra dura ring features a colorful butterfly. The face of this ring was originally part of a pair of 14k gold cufflinks (circa 1890-1910) that our jeweler transformed by removing the face of the cufflinks and creating two rings and a pair of earrings. We are selling each of the rings and earrings separately, but they would make a lovely earring and necklace set or a pair of mother-daughter rings.
The top of the ring measures 0.5 inches (13mm) in diameter and the condition is excellent.
This ring is currently a size 6.25, but it can be re-sized free of charge.
