Antique Enamel Lily of the Valley Brooch of 18k Gold

The lily of the valley is said to symbolize humility and purity. One of the first flowers of spring, this flower has a rich history in Christian art as a symbol of the Virgin Mary and the Immaculate Conception (A Handbook of Symbols in Christian Art by Gertrude Grace Sill).

This elegant brooch dates to the early 1900s. The lily of the valley has green enamel accents and post set pearl flowers. It is unmarked, but acid tests for 18k gold.

The brooch measures 2.55 inches from top to bottom by 0.4 inches wide. It is in excellent condition and weighs 9.5 grams.

Materials: Pearl, Gold.
