Antique Authentication.
Our owners are experts in identifying antique and vintage jewelry and have studied under some of the best in the field at lectures and seminars. Each of the pieces on TMA’s website is evaluated by our owners, and, in some instances, an outside appraiser or certification agency. We period date all items to the best of our ability by examining the construction, the materials and settings used, the lapidary techniques, the manufacturing methods, and any identifying hallmarks or maker’s marks. Dating jewelry is not an exact science, and experts can offer differ in opinions with respect to period dating jewelry. When in doubt, TMA reaches out to other experts in the field or certification agencies for additional opinions.
We are always happy to provide appraisal certificates or certificates of authenticity upon request.
Gemstone Identification and Grading.
All gemstones are graded and evaluated in their settings, unless otherwise stated in the listing. Since it is not possible to provide exact color, clarity, and weight of mounted gemstones, all data pertaining to mounted gemstones should be considered approximate unless accompanied by an independent laboratory certificate (GIA or EGL). Additionally, unless accompanied by an independent laboratory certificate, all color gemstones and pearls should be assumed to be subject to possibly undetected color or clarity enhancement.
Our reputation is extremely important to us and we stand behind every item we sell with a full money back guarantee. If you have questions or concerns about the authenticity of any item purchased from our store, we will be happy to address your concerns and work on a resolution or refund.
