Antique Banded Agate Snake Pendant of 9ct Gold

A striking emblem of eternal love, wisdom, and transformation, this antique pendant features a finely sculpted 9ct gold serpent coiled gracefully around a polished banded agate. The natural agate—rich with earthy striations—serves as a grounding backdrop to the sinuous, golden form of the snake, a powerful motif revered in Victorian jewelry for its deep symbolic meaning.

Originally crafted circa 1890 as a gentleman’s stickpin, this unique piece was artfully reimagined by our jeweler, who removed the original pin stem and added a custom 14k gold bail. The transformation preserves the integrity of the antique craftsmanship while offering a versatile, wearable jewel for the modern collector.

The pendant measures approximately 1.1 inches from the top of the bail to the base and 0.4 inches wide, with a total weight of 3.85 grams. The gold has been confirmed as solid 9ct through X-ray fluorescence (XRF) testing.

The piece is in good antique condition, with a stable, surface reaching crack visible only under magnification.
