Antique Eagle Stickpin of 14k Gold

A striking antique German stickpin dating to circa 1890–1900, finely crafted in 14 karat gold and designed as a detailed heraldic eagle, a motif strongly associated with German and Prussian tradition during the late nineteenth century. At its center rests an oval sapphire, accented by six rose-cut diamonds that add subtle sparkle and elegant contrast to the richly modeled goldwork.

The eagle is rendered with exceptional sculptural detail, its outstretched wings conveying strength, vigilance, and national pride. Popular in German jewelry of the Imperial era, eagle motifs drew upon centuries of heraldic symbolism and were favored as expressions of patriotism, military tradition, and noble heritage. The deep blue sapphire and antique-cut diamonds lend the piece a refined and distinguished appearance.

The pin head measures approximately 0.9 inches by 0.7 inches, while the complete stickpin measures 3.05 inches in length and weighs 5.26 grams, giving it a substantial and impressive presence when worn. It remains in great antique condition, with crisp details and securely set gemstones.

Gemstone identification has been confirmed using Raman spectroscopy, a non-destructive analytical technique that provides a precise chemical fingerprint to verify authenticity. Metal authenticity has been professionally verified using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming solid 14K gold construction.
