Antique Micromosaic Pendant of 14k Gold

Italian Micromosaic Pendant of Loaves and Fish in 14k Gold

Circa 1830, adapted from a Georgian-era paperweight

A sacred symbol of providence and spiritual abundance, this exceptional pendant was thoughtfully reimagined from a Georgian-era micromosaic paperweight, originally created in Italy around the 1830s. At its heart lies a finely rendered depiction of the biblical loaves and fish—an enduring image of faith and sustenance—formed from hundreds of hand-set glass tesserae.

Each miniature piece of colored glass was placed with astonishing precision by a skilled Roman artisan, exemplifying the technical mastery and devotional artistry characteristic of early 19th-century Italian micromosaic work. The result is a vibrant, emotive tableau imbued with both historical and spiritual resonance.

We have preserved and elevated this artifact by setting it in a custom-made 14k gold bezel, designed to echo the warmth of the image while offering a refined, modern silhouette. The mounting transforms this once-static object into a wearable expression of heritage, belief, and beauty.
