Antique Opal and Diamond Ring of 12k Gold

This antique ring dates to the late Victorian or Edwardian era, circa 1890–1910. The ring features three opals displaying vibrant play-of-color surrounded by a halo of single-cut diamonds in a classic cluster design. Opals were highly prized during this period, and their luminous appearance is beautifully complemented by the sparkle of the surrounding diamonds.

The ring face measures approximately 0.4 by 0.6 inches and the ring weighs 2.44 grams. It is currently a size 5.5 and can be resized for an additional charge. The ring remains in great antique condition.

The metal has been analyzed using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) spectroscopy and jeweler's acid testing and was confirmed to be 12k gold. The ring bears a 14k stamp, a discrepancy occasionally encountered in antique jewelry due to historical manufacturing practices and hallmarking inconsistencies.

The opals have been identified using Raman spectroscopy, a non-destructive analytical technique that provides a chemical fingerprint for gemstone identification.
