Belle Epoque Diamond Earrings of Platinum and 14k Gold

A stunning pair of Belle Époque–era earrings (circa 1900) featuring old European and rose cut diamonds set in platinum over 14k gold—a hallmark combination of materials prized for its luminous contrast and enduring sophistication.

Originally part of an antique pin, the piece was expertly transformed by our jeweler, who removed the pin findings, split the piece in half, and added 14k gold ear wires while preserving the integrity and elegance of the original design. The central diamonds are 0.27ct and 0.28ct each for a total carat weight of 0.53ctw. The central diamonds are E-F color, VS2 clarity.

Each earring measures approximately 1.3 inches from the top of the ear wire to the bottom by 0.3 inches wide and together they weigh 3.07 grams.

The metals have been professionally verified using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and confirmed with traditional jeweler’s acid testing, authenticating their platinum-topped 14k gold composition.

In excellent antique condition, these earrings embody the refined artistry and graceful sparkle of the Belle Époque, perfect for collectors who appreciate jewels that unite history, beauty, and transformation.
