Wedgwood Anti-Slavery Pendant of 14k Gold

Vintage 1959 Wedgwood Anti-Slavery Pendant – A Symbol of Abolition: This vintage Wedgwood pendant (originally a cufflink dating to 1959), commemorates the powerful anti-slavery medallion originally designed by Josiah Wedgwood in 1787 for the Society for the Abolition of the Slave Trade. The jasperware cameo features the iconic image of a kneeling man in chains, hands raised to the heavens, accompanied by the poignant inscription: "Am I not a man and a brother?"

This emblem was one of the most widely recognized symbols of the abolitionist movement in Britain and the United States, and this pendant serves as a tribute to the fight for justice and human dignity.

The pendant measures 1.6 inches from the top of the bail to bottom by 1.2 inches wide and weighs 5.5 grams. It is in great condition.
