Antique Diamond Bug Earrings of 14k Gold

An enchanting pair of antique earrings (circa 1880-1900), designed as delicate insect motifs set with shimmering diamonds in silver-topped 14 karat gold, accented by vivid natural rubies. The combination of cool silver settings over warm gold was characteristic of late Victorian jewelry, enhancing the brilliance of the diamonds while maintaining structural integrity. The ruby accents lend subtle flashes of color, bringing the naturalistic forms to life.

Each earring measures 1.2 inches from the top of the ear wire to the bottom and 0.7 inches wide, with a combined weight of 2.92 grams, offering an elegant, lightweight presence when worn.

Presented in great antique condition, with stones secure and fine detailing well preserved. Metal authenticity has been professionally verified using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming silver-topped 14K gold construction. A refined and highly collectible example of Victorian naturalistic design.
