Antique Diamond Swallow Earrings of Silver Topped Gold

A graceful and symbolically rich pair of antique earrings, featuring two swallows rendered in silver-topped 10k rose gold and set with delicate rose cut diamonds. Swallows were among the most beloved motifs of the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, symbolizing love, fidelity, hope, and safe return, and their elegant, outstretched forms lend these earrings a sense of lightness and movement. The rose cut diamonds provide a soft, period-appropriate sparkle that complements the warm tone of the rose gold beneath the silver-topped settings.

Originally part of an antique brooch dating to 1900, the swallows were expertly transformed by our jeweler by removing the original pin findings and adding gold ear wires, allowing them to be worn comfortably as earrings while preserving their antique character and proportions.

Each earring measures approximately 1.1 inches from the top of the ear wire to the bottom by 0.6 inches wide, with a combined weight of 3.39 grams, making them light and easy to wear. The metals have been professionally evaluated using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s testing, confirming their composition. In great antique condition, these earrings are beautiful examples of turn-of-the-century figural jewelry, ideal for collectors who appreciate symbolism, movement, and sensitively executed antique conversions.
