Antique Owl Locket | Antique Gold Locket

Owls have long associations with wisdom and academic achievement. The Greek goddess of wisdom, Athena, was often depicted with an owl, as was her Roman counterpart Minerva.

This antique locket (circa 1890-1900) features a finely rendered owl with rose cut diamond eyes. The locket is 14k gold (unmarked, but acid tested).

The piece measures 1.2 inches from the top of the bail to the bottom of the locket by 0.8 inches wide. We are providing the option to purchase it with or without the 18 inch 14k yellow and white gold braided chain depicted in the photos.

The locket is in good condition with light surface wear on the reverse of the piece.
