Georgian Hand Brooch of 18k Gold in Antique Box

Ancient Greeks awarded laurel wreaths to winners of competitions and they have come to represent victory and peace.

This antique brooch (circa 1790-1810) features a 18k gold hand clutching a wreath of foil backed hand cut paste (glass) accents.

The piece measures 0.9 inches by 0.5 inches wide, and it is in excellent condition. We are selling the pin with a nicely fitted jewelry box from the late 1800s. The pin is in very good condition with some wear to the very tip of the pin stem.
