Antique Griffin Brooch or Watch Pin | 10k Gold Griffin

Chatelaine pins, watch pins, and stick pins featuring chimera or griffin-like creatures were quite popular and produced by most of the fine American jewelry manufacturing companies around the turn of the 20th century.

This elegant Art Nouveau griffin or griffin-dragon pin is finely rendered of 10k gold (unmarked, but acid tested) with tiny half pearl accents on its body.

The brooch has a hook at the bottom of the brooch that was once used to hang a chatelaine or watch, and it measures 0.95 inches from top to bottom by 1.3 inches wide.

It is in very good condition.
