Antique Honeymoon Pin | Pearl and Enamel Pin

Pins incorporating a crescent moon and flowers or grapes were popular love tokens during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Such pins were referred to as "honeymoon" pins -- the flowers represented the nectar (honey) and the crescent symbolized the moon.

This pin, a lovely example of an early 20th century honeymoon jewelry, features a purple enamel violet with a post set pearl accent. The pin is unmarked, but acid tests for 10k gold.

The brooch measures 0.55inches from top to bottom by 1.1 inches wide, and it is in good condition with a slight bit of wear to the enamel visible under magnification.

Materials: Pearl, Gold.
