An outstanding hand painted portrait ring surrounded by a halo of rose cut diamonds.
This magnificent Victorian ring (circa 1830-1850) features a hand painted profile of a woman wearing a crown set under glass. The portrait is simple, but beautifully rendered. It is framed by 32 closed back rose cut diamonds. The top of the ring is 18k gold, while the shank (which appears to be a later replacement) is 10k.
The face of the ring measures 0.7 inches (12.5mm) in diameter. It is in very good condition; however, there are some small chips to the surface of the glass near the bottom of the ring.
The ring is currently a size 8, but it can be re-sized free of charge.
Materials: glass, diamond, rose cut diamond, 10k gold, 18k gold, paint.
