Antique Moonstone Talon Charm of 10k Gold

Antique Moonstone Talon Charm: This charm features a talon of 10k gold clutching a moonstone orb. It was originally an antique stickpin (circa 1910) that our jeweler transformed by removing the pin and adding a jump ring bail.

The use of a "ball and claw" motif originated from ancient Chinese mythology. In ancient times, a dragon's claw clutching a jewel or stone was said to protect the treasure from evil forces attempting to steal it. Centuries later, this motif symbolizes safekeeping of the object it holds.

The piece measures 0.75 inches from the top of the jump ring to bottom by 0.25 inches wide and weighs 0.78 grams. It is in great condition.
