Antique Shakudo Frog Pendant Mounted in 14k Gold

Shakudo is a Japanese mixed metal technique that involved an alloy of copper and gold and it was usually treated to give it a black patina.

We created this whimsical pendant by mounting an antique shakudo cufflink in 14k gold. The piece features a mixed metal scene of two frogs out for a stroll -- one with a fan and the other an umbrella.

The pendant measures 1.4 inches from the top of the bail to bottom by 1.1 inches wide. It is in very good condition; however, we suspect that there was originally a dark patina was removed at some point in the past.

We are providing the option to purchase the pendant with or without the 24 inch, 14k gold chain depicted in the photos.

Materials: 14k gold, copper alloy, shakudo, mixed metal.
