Belle Epoque Diamond Ring of Platinum and Gold

An elegant Belle Époque era ring dating from 1890–1900, featuring a dazzling arrangement of old European cut diamonds set in platinum-topped yellow gold. XRF analysis indicates the gold is approximately 13K, a composition sometimes found in antique jewelry due to period alloy variations and manufacturing practices. The elongated openwork design reflects the refined lightness and graceful symmetry characteristic of the Belle Époque period, while the platinum settings enhance the brilliance and delicacy of the diamonds.

The ring is set with 29 old European cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.95 carats. At the center is a 0.28 carat old European cut diamond graded H color and VS2 clarity. The remaining diamonds range from G–I color and VS–SI2 clarity.

The face of the ring measures approximately 1.4 inches by 0.6 inches and weighs 4.93 grams, offering impressive scale while maintaining an elegant, lightweight feel. The ring is presented in excellent antique condition, with all stones secure and the intricate details beautifully preserved.

Currently a size 7, the ring can be professionally resized for an additional charge.

Gemstone identification has been confirmed using Raman spectroscopy, a non-destructive analytical technique that provides a precise chemical fingerprint to verify authenticity.
Metal composition has been professionally verified through XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming platinum and approximately 13K yellow gold construction.
