Bird Pendant | Antique Necklace

Swallows were a common motif in Victorian and Edwardian jewelry symbolic of faithful love and a safe return home.

This pendant was converted from an antique brooch (circa 1890-1900) by removing the pin findings and adding a gold bail. The 9ct gold pendant features a swallow studded with pearls and a single ruby eye, set atop a large chalcedony stone.

The pendant measures 1.45 inches from the top of the bail to bottom by 1.55 inches wide, and it is in very good condition. We are providing the option to purchase the pendant with or without the 24 inch, 14k gold chain depicted in the photos.
