An organ grinder was a 19th and early 20th century street performer who played a hand organ or hurdy-gurdy. Some of these performers were accompanied by monkeys that preformed tricks and attracted attention.
This vintage 14k gold charm (circa 1940-1950) features a street performer holding a hand organ that opens to expose a monkey on a chain.
The piece measures 0.85 inches from the top of the jump ring to bottom by 0.3 inches wide and is in excellent condition.
