Rutilated Quartz Talon Pendant or Charm | Antique Moonstone Claw or Talon

The use of a "ball and claw" motif originated from ancient Chinese mythology. In ancient times, a dragon's claw clutching a jewel or stone was said to protect the treasure from evil forces attempting to steal it. Centuries later, this motif symbolizes safekeeping of the object it holds.

This charm features a rutilated quartz ball set into a 14k gold talon. The pendant was originally an antique stick pin that our jeweler transformed with the addition of a 14k gold bail.

The pendant measures 0.75 inches from top to bottom (including the jump ring bail) by 0.3 inches wide, and it is in very good condition.

Materials: Quartz, Gold.
