Victorian Micromosaic Dog Ring of 18k and 14k Gold

A charming and highly collectible antique ring from 1860–1880, featuring a finely executed micromosaic portrait of a King Charles spaniel, set within mounting of an 18k top and 14k band. Micromosaic jewelry, painstakingly composed of tiny hand-cut glass tesserae, was especially admired in the 19th century for its technical precision and painterly detail. The spaniel adds a warm, sentimental character to this beautifully crafted jewel.

The micromosaic retains amazing clarity and color, showcasing the remarkable skill required to achieve such lifelike expression on a miniature scale. The face of the ring measures approximately 0.55 inches by 0.5 inches wide and is currently a size 7.25 (resizable a slight bit upon request for an additional charge).

The gold has been professionally verified using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and confirmed with traditional jeweler’s acid testing, authenticating its 14k/18k composition. In great antique condition, this ring is a wonderful example of Victorian micromosaic jewelry, ideal for collectors who appreciate animal imagery, fine craftsmanship, and enduring sentimental motifs.
