Shibayama Insect with Ruby Conversion Earrings in 14k Gold

These distinctive earrings were created from antique Shibayama game pieces (circa 1880), a Japanese decorative art celebrated for its intricate inlay and naturalistic motifs. Our jeweler carefully cut the originals into refined oval forms, mounted them in 14k gold, and completed the design with ruby surmounts and 14k gold ear wires—blending 19th-century craftsmanship with modern wearability.

Each earring measures 1.1 inches from the top of the ear wire to the base by 0.3 inches across. The gold content has been verified through XRF (x-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming purity and integrity.

In excellent condition, these one-of-a-kind earrings preserve the artistry of Japanese Shibayama work while offering fresh elegance for today’s collector.

Materials: 14k gold, ruby.
