Antique Turquoise Heart Pendant

Once a treasured brooch from the mid-19th century (circa 1860–1880), this elegant pendant has been thoughtfully reimagined for contemporary wear. Our jeweler preserved its romantic composition—a bow and heart formed from vivid turquoise cabochons set in gilded silver—while removing the original pin findings and adding a custom 14k gold bail.

On the reverse lies a discreet locket compartment, housing a carefully woven plait of human hair, a poignant token of remembrance in the Victorian tradition of mourning jewelry.

Suspended from an 18.25-inch 14k gold chain, the pendant measures 1.8 inches from the top of the bail to the base and 0.9 inches across. It is in excellent condition, retaining both its structural integrity and rich color after more than 140 years.

The metal content of both pendant and chain has been confirmed through XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and jeweler’s acid testing, ensuring authenticity and quality.
