A rare jewel from the Georgian era (circa 1780–1800), this romantic heart-shaped brooch is crafted in warm 14k gold and adorned with richly hued flat cut garnets. Each stone is foil-backed in the period tradition, creating a captivating depth and play of light that speaks to the meticulous craftsmanship of the 18th century.
Measuring 0.9 inches by 0.8 inches, the brooch offers an intimate scale that makes it as wearable today as it was over two centuries ago. It remains in good antique condition, with a small chip to one garnet visible under magnification and a discreet area of soft solder near the c-clasp on the reverse—both consistent with age and use.
The gold has been authenticated through XRF (x-ray fluorescence) analysis and jeweler’s acid testing, ensuring its quality and historical integrity.
Materials: 14k gold, Garnet.
