Immerse yourself in the elegance of the Victorian era with this exquisite charm (circa 1880), featuring a polished garnet cabochon embraced by the coiled form of an ouroboros—the ancient symbol of a serpent consuming its own tail. A timeless emblem of eternity, renewal, and the unending cycle of life, the ouroboros was a powerful and much-loved motif in 19th-century jewelry.
Originally crafted as part of a cufflink, the jewel has been thoughtfully reimagined by our jeweler with the addition of a 14k gold jump ring bail, allowing it to be worn as a pendant while preserving its antique character.
The piece measures 0.8 inches from the top of the bail to the base by 0.5 inches across and weighs 1.83 grams. The gold has been authenticated through XRF (x-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming purity and integrity.
In great condition, this jewel embodies both Victorian symbolism and refined craftsmanship—making it a meaningful addition to any collection of antique charms and pendants.
