Striking in its simplicity and sculptural form, this antique pendant features a beautifully carved banded agate with raised ridges that add both texture and visual depth. The stone’s natural striations—ranging from deep espresso to translucent white—create a captivating interplay of light and shadow, accentuating its organic elegance.
The piece is crowned with a 14k gold bail; however, the gold at the bottom and cap at the top are gold filled. Measuring approximately 1.1 inches from the top of the bail to the base and 0.5 inches wide, the pendant has a weight of 3.95 grams and is in very good antique condition.
The metal has been XRF tested to confirm that it is a mixture of gold fill and 14k gold. Likely originating circa 1890, this pendant once formed part of an antique stickpin and has been reimagined as a pendant for contemporary wear.
