Antique Enamel Plique a Jour Bird Stickpin

"Hope is the thing with feathers, that perches in the soul, and sings a tune without the words, and never stops at all..." -- Emily Dickinson

This antique stickpin (circa 1890-1900) features a bird in flight with plique a jour enamel wings and a tiny ruby eye. The pin stem bears French hallmarks indicating that it is 800 silver.

The pin measures 2.9 inches from top to bottom by 0.75 inches wide, and it is in good condition with a bit of crazing to the enamel (visible only under magnification).

Materials: silver, enamel, plique a jour enamel.
