Prepare to fall in love with this antique Japanese Shakudo fan pendant with a crane -- a symbol of eternal youth, good fortune, and happiness.
This unique shakudo pendant was originally a stick pin (circa 1890-1900). Shakudo is a Japanese mixed metal technique that involved an alloy of copper and gold that was treated to give it a dark patina. Shakudo pieces were used to decorate armor and were later incorporated into jewelry and art.
Our jeweler backed the antique shakudo piece in 14k gold and added a 14k gold bail to transform it into a pendant. The pendant measures 1 inch from the top of the jump ring bail to the bottom of the piece by 1.1 inches wide. It is in very good condition.
We are providing the option to purchase the pendant with or without the 16 inch 14k gold chain depicted in the attached photos.
Materials: Silver, Gold.
