Antique Crane Necklace | 14k Gold Crane on 18k Gold Chain

For centuries, cranes have symbolized happiness, longevity and eternal youth. A popular subject in the tradition of origami, ancient Japanese legend holds that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted one wish.

This elegant necklace is as much about symbolism as it is about artistry and style. The antique crane (circa 1900) is finely rendered in 14k gold with diamond and pearl accents. The chain is 18k gold.

The necklace measures 16.5 inches and has an extra loop on the chain so it can also be worn at a 15 inch length. It is in very good condition; however, the chain is a later replacement and not original to the piece.
