Antique Cushion Cut Diamond Talon Charm of 18k Gold

The use of a "ball and claw" motif originated from ancient Chinese mythology. In ancient times, a dragon's claw clutching a jewel or stone was said to protect the treasure from evil forces attempting to steal it.

This alluring charm was originally an antique stick pin (circa 1880-1900) that we transformed into a charm by removing the pin stem and adding a jump ring bail. The piece is 18k gold and holds a radiant 0.37ct square cushion cut diamond of I-J color, SI2 clarity.

The pendant measures 0.8 inches from the top of the bail to bottom by 0.3 inches wide. It is in excellent condition.

Materials: diamond, 18k gold.
