An exquisite example of 19th-century French jewelry, this handmade locket (circa 1870–1880) is crafted in 18k gold and adorned with nine vibrant turquoise cabochons accented by delicate black enamel detailing. The reverse of the bail bears the French eagle’s head hallmark, attesting to its origin and quality.

The locket measures approximately 1.2 inches from the top of the jump ring to the base by 0.6 inches wide, with a weight of 5.33 grams. Inside, it retains its original glass photo cover, which snaps securely in place — a rare survival that speaks to the care with which this jewel has been preserved.

It remains in great antique condition, with only slight loss to the black enamel visible under very close inspection, consistent with age and wear.
