An irresistible Victorian love token MIZPAH locket. Mizpah is a Hebrew word that symbolizing an emotional bond between two people, and Mizpah jewelry was often exchanged during the 1800s and early 1900s when close friends or romantic partners were separated from each other for a period of time.
This marvelous keepsake (circa 1880-1900) emanates antique allure and would add a gorgeous glow to any outfit. Both the front and back of the locket feature an elegant etched floral design, and the front is also embossed with the word MIZPAH.
The piece opens and closes securely and has frames and plastic inserts for holding photos. It is unmarked, but acid tests for 9ct gold and measures 1.4 inches from top to bottom by 0.9 inches wide.
