Antique Talon Charm | Claw Pendant

The use of a "ball and claw" motif originated from ancient Chinese mythology. In ancient times, a dragon's claw clutching a jewel or stone was said to protect the treasure from evil forces attempting to steal it.

This charm was originally an antique stick pin (circa 1910-1920) that was converted by refashioning the pin stem into a bail. The piece features a talon of 14k gold clutching a moonstone sphere.

The pendant measures 0.85 from the top of the bail to bottom by 0.3 inches wide and is in excellent condition.

Materials: Moonstone, Gold.
