Antique Lapis Lazuli and Diamond Swallow Bird Earrings

A celebration of Edwardian elegance and symbolism, these exquisite drop earrings (circa 1900–1915) feature diamond-accented swallows—emblems of love, loyalty, and safe return—gracefully riveted onto polished, vibrant blue lapis lazuli plaques. Each swallow drop is surmounted by a collet-set diamond and a matching lapis bead, adding a dramatic interplay of texture and color.

The earrings are unmarked, yet meticulous testing confirms their quality: the ear wires are 10k gold, while the swallow components are 14k gold. These results were verified using XRF (x-ray fluorescence) analysis and jeweler’s acid testing.

Measuring 1.2 inches from the top of the ear wire to the base of the drop by 0.5 inches wide, the pair remains in good condition, with only light hairline scratches to the lapis—visible solely under magnification.

An elegant fusion of fine materials, masterful craftsmanship, and enduring romantic symbolism, these earrings are ideal for the collector who values both artistry and narrative.

Materials: lapis lazuli, lapis, 14k gold, diamond.
