Georgian Emerald and Diamond Ring of 18k and 15k Gold

A rare and evocative Georgian era ring, circa 1770–1790, designed as an elongated navette set with vibrant emeralds, bright white enamel, and centered with a pear shaped rose cut diamond evocative of a heart. The heart motif, symbolizing enduring love, is beautifully framed by the vivid green emeralds, while the white enamel adds contrast and refinement—an elegant combination characteristic of late 18th-century sentimental jewelry.

The ring’s face is crafted in 18K yellow gold, with a silver collet securing the diamond, and measures approximately 0.8 inches by 0.5 inches. Weighing 6.05 grams, it offers a substantial yet well-balanced presence when worn. The ring is presented in good antique condition; however, the 15K gold band is a later replacement. It is currently a size 8.25 and may be professionally resized for an additional fee.

Metal composition has been professionally verified using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming solid gold construction. The gemstones and enamel were analyzed using Raman spectroscopy, a non-destructive laboratory technique that provides a precise chemical “fingerprint” for identification and authentication. Notably, the presence of lead arsenate in the white enamel supports dating to the mid-to-late 18th century.
