Victorian Garnet and Diamond Ring of 18k Gold

A dramatic and richly sculptural ring centered with a massive 40.80ct almandine garnet cabochon, framed by a sparkling halo of 32 rose cut diamonds, and finished with a distinctive 18k gold foliate band. The garnet displays deep, glowing red tones, beautifully contrasted by the brilliance of the surrounding diamonds, creating a bold and luxurious composition.

The piece was likely created from an antique brooch dating to circa 1860–1870, combined with a later gold mounting, allowing the historic element to be preserved and worn as a statement ring.

The face of the ring measures 1.3 inches by 0.9 inches wide and rises 0.5 inches off the finger, offering impressive scale and dimensional presence. The ring weighs 21.26 grams, giving it a substantial and confident feel.

Currently a size 9 with sizing beads inside the band, it may be resized for an additional charge.

It is presented in great condition, with stones secure and surfaces well preserved. Metal authenticity has been professionally verified using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming 18K gold construction.

The almandine garnet was verified using Raman spectroscopy, a non-destructive laboratory technique that provides a precise chemical ‘fingerprint’ to confirm the gemstone’s identity and authenticity.
