Antique Gryphon Head Stickpin of 14k Gold

A striking antique stickpin (circa 1890-1900), designed as the finely sculpted head of a gryphon crafted in 14 karat gold. The mythical creature is rendered with expressive detail, its fierce profile animated by a vivid ruby cabochon eye, adding a rich point of color and intensity. Gryphons, long symbols of strength and guardianship, were favored motifs in late Victorian jewelry for their powerful and protective connotations.

The pin head measures 0.7 inches by 0.5 inches wide, with the entire stickpin measuring 2.85 inches in length and weighing 3.10 grams, offering a refined yet distinctive presence when worn. It is presented in very good antique condition with some slight waviness to the band that is not noticeable when worn.

The piece may be purchased in its original stickpin form, or we can convert it into a wearable charm or pendant for an additional charge, allowing for versatile styling.

Metal authenticity has been professionally verified using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming solid 14K gold construction. A rare and highly collectible example of Victorian mythological jewelry.
