Antique Pietra Dura Butterfly Pendant of 14k Gold

Pietra dura is a form of Florentine mosaic created when artisans cut and set colorful hard stones against a black slate.

This 14k gold pendant was originally an antique earring (circa 1870-1890) that we transformed by removing the ear wire and adding a gold bail.

The piece measures 1.2 inches from the top of the bail to bottom by 0.7 inches wide, and it is in very good condition.
