Antique Dove Micromosaic Brooch of 18k Gold

Antique Micromosaic Brooch: A Victorian era micromosaic brooch (circa 1870) depicting three doves nestled on a branch of white flowers. The mosaic is comprised of intricate hand set glass tesserae and it is mounted in 18k gold. The ornate frame is embellished with hand set twisted wire and granulation in the Etruscan Revival style. The reverse of the mosaic is silver.

The exceptional jewel measures 1.45 inches in diameter and weighs 12.75 grams. It is in great condition.
