Georgian Enamel Patch Box

During the 18th century, a commonly gifted item was a patch box. These tiny porcelain boxes often expressed beautiful sentiments on the outside, while the inside held patches of gummed taffeta, used to cover blemishes or to decorate one's skin.

This antique patch box features white and blue enamel with the quote, 'This trifle pleads my constant love'. The piece is in good condition with minor chips and hairline cracks in the enamel.

The piece measures 1.25 inches by 1.5 inches wide and 1.1 inch tall.

Materials: Enamel, metal.
