An antique pansy ring, reworked from an original brooch dating to circa 1890–1900. The floral motif is composed of carved rhodolite garnets and diamonds, set in silver and 18k gold. The original brooch fittings have been removed and a 14k gold band added by our jeweler, allowing the piece to be worn as a ring.
The carved garnets are a deep raspberry tone, accented by the diamonds and the contrast of the silver and gold settings. The pansy retains the distinctive character of its late 19th-century origins, with the carved floral form giving the ring a sculptural quality.
The face measures approximately 0.7" x 0.6" and the ring weighs 4.75 grams. Currently a size 6.25; resizing is available for an additional charge. In great antique condition.
Gemstones have been identified using Raman spectroscopy, a non-destructive method of analysis. The metals have been professionally verified by XRF analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming solid 14k and 18k gold.
