Painted to perfection, this darling portrait brooch (circa 1830-1840) features a young blonde woman seated in a rocky field glancing over her shoulder. This whimsical miniature painting is rendered on a thin wafer, set in a silver mount, and framed by 18 seed pearl accents.
This dainty brooch would be quite a conversation piece if worn on a dress or the lapel of a blazer.
The mounting is unmarked, but tests for a low grade silver. The piece measures 0.9 inches in diameter and is in very good condition; however, there are some dark spots on the reverse of the piece.
Materials: silver, 800 silver, paint.
